Bring your space to life with the colors and depth of this bright and fun artwork with Jocelyn's paint brushes and a red Sunflower with the beach as the backdrop!

"Learn the Rules Like A Pro, So You Can Break Them Like an Artist" is a quote attributed to Pablo Picasso. Variations of it have been used widely by Rebels from The Dali Lama to Fashion Guru Alexander McQueen, which is where Jocelyn's story about her art creation process begins and ends.

First, Jocelyn spends a lot of time studying the best practices on how to create and master things. Her method of execution is using the best practices in mind then taking things apart, thinking differently, and splashing paints outside the box! She allows her intuition guide her in figuring out how to tell the story that she wants to convey, and pushes the boundaries while achieving the best quality and composition that she envisions. She puts it all together on canvas to make things captivating, inspirational and meaningful.  #ThinkDifferent #BeBold #BeFree

More Mixed Media Pro Artist’s Tips: 1. You can always enhance or redo a part of your work that you want to elevate! You can either shade more, sand stuff-off (if you dig the distressed look as much as I do!), paint over it, add textured material over it (see my previous post about using tissue paper! :) Really, the possibilities of taking it to another level is endless as long as you allow yourself to have the curiosity of an artist child 👨🏻‍🎤🎨 2. Drying paint in between putting different colors is important... To speed things up, I have a couple of heat guns that I use... Don’t burn yo’ self tho🔥 3. When painting with acrylics, I like using a dip calligraphy pen when hand lettering. It allows for more freedom in choosing nibs, inks, and even holders, though they tend to be messy and more temperamental. But I love the nostalgia of dipping into India Ink...(India ink after it’s dry, doesn’t bleed.) 🖋 4. Be True To Your Art! As a True Rebel, I love pushing the envelope with my craft. And the more I can let go and break as many rules as possible—as long as the artwork will have a high archival quality—I’m happier! As a polymath, I get bored easily, so mixed media allows me to use multiple tools, use different skillzzz, and throw everything into my artwork—except for the kitchen sink! (If you look closer, I have stitches into this artwork, too!) 5. Always Create from your Heart. ❣️ #mixedmedia #painting #art #contemporary art #modernart #sunflower #artwork #calligraphy #wordart #lettering #tip #nevergiveup #resilience #iseverything #DigDeep #thinkdifferent #bebrave #arttherapy #Rebel #Artist #Alchemist #Mystic #Polymath #Problems #Solutions #whyicreate
