Sea Echoes: v1.5 "Time You Enjoy Wasting.." - 6"x6" Original Encaustic Mixed Media

$1,250.00

Begin your day viewing this art, the fifth installment of Jocelyn's Sea Echo series.

This encaustic piece brings a sense of serenity and reminder to pamper yourself. What constitutes pampering? That will vary for each of us, and it may not have anything to do with expensive materials and penthouse views. Enjoy your Life. Give yourself the luxury of Time - time of solitude, with friends and family... But above all, time to yourself with no agendas of accomplishment.

This artwork was inspired by Jocelyn's daily runs and exploration of the beaches on Scenic Road in Carmel-by-the-Sea. She created a ritual of journaling and picking up "sea treasures" for her art. Each second of this practice was never wasted, and neither should your daily practices of what makes you happy. Be creative, and get inspired - anywhere and everywhere.

"Always leave enough time in your life to do something that makes you happy, satisfied, even joyous. That has more of an effect on economic well-being than any single factor." -Paul Hawken.

About the Artwork

Original Encaustic Wax Mixed Media on Cradled Birch Wood Panel

Size: 6" x 6"

    Word Art:
“Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted

What is Encaustic painting? It is an ancient media using natural and pigmented beeswax. Dammar resin is used to help stabilize it. The process involves using both clear and pigmented hot wax to paint, and then heat to fuse each layer. The many layers of wax give the encaustic painting a translucent, ethereal and intriguing quality.

Materials used in the artwork include:
Encaustic medium (a blend of clear beeswax and damar resin), encaustic paints, oil sticks, seashells, sand and sea shells from Carmel-by-the-Sea and India ink.
