Sea Echoes: v1.3 "I'm A Dreamer, But I'm Not The Only One" - 6"x6" Original Encaustic Mixed Media

$1,250.00

Let the lyrics taken from John Lennon's song "Imagine" and this beautiful beach scene of Natural Bridge in Santa Cruz, California fill your home with sea breeze and light!

This encaustic third installment of Jocelyn's Sea Echoes Series evokes a sense of comfort and togetherness with fellow dreamers and rebels who dare to follow their heart's dreams. Let this piece give you a sense of calm and excitement of the possibilities the world has for you.

Jocelyn is inspired by “Imagine,” a song that continues to stand the test of time and remains relevant through the world’s constant changes. John Lennon conveys the ethos of a Rebel Artist, whose views differ from that of the general public. He views the world as he wishes it would be: a more equal, peaceful world. He declares, “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us and the world will live as one.” This idea may seem to be completely foreign due to the daily struggles we see, but peace is not a far-off dream. It could become reality if everyone worked together.

What is Encaustic painting? It is an ancient media using natural and pigmented beeswax. Dammar resin is used to help stabilize it. The process involves using both clear and pigmented hot wax to paint, and then heat to fuse each layer. The many layers of wax give the encaustic painting a translucent, ethereal and intriguing quality.
