I am a storyteller. When I approach a project, I contemplate the story, memories, emotions and sentiments that I want to convey. I want my work to be meaningful, and to start awareness -- whether the artwork is about honoring someone's loved one, a family's togetherness, special events, or a humanitarian cause... Art has the power to steer people toward the truth or to an individual's redemptive identity.Β
I accept commissioned (custom) art projects so if you would like something custom made for your space or your client's, please initiate your interest byΒ selecting the 50% deposit option for this item.Β This project is not accepted by meΒ until we have a fully signed contract.
PLEASE READ:Β PLACING A "50% Deposit for a Diptych --Β 2 (Two) Custom 24" X 36" Original Acrylic Mixed Media on Canvas Panels" here is considered a "Pre-Order" for a commission -- for new original Acrylic Mixed Media painting in the same size -- with a total cost(before shipping/packaging charges) of $10,000.00.
Once you pay a 50% deposit for a custom Diptych - 2 (two) 24" x 36" Acrylic Mixed Media artworks, here are the next steps that you can expect:Β
- I will review your pre-order and will contact you, within 2 business days, to arrange for a 10-minute phone call appointment, so we may discuss your project.Β If the project is not a good fit, or if I'm currently not available to take your commission project as per your desired timeline, I will process your refund immediately -- before or within 5Β business days of placing your pre-order -- to inform you that the order hasΒ been cancelled.
- If the commission project seems like it's a great fit, I will confirm that I will send you a contract to review, sign and return to me.Β
- TheΒ most important things in our custom or commission artwork contract are as follows:

- The 50% deposit is required and non-refundable after we both have signed the contract. The remaining 50%, plus cost of packaging/shipping (if any) are due uponΒ completion. You will receive an invoice via email for the remaining balance.
- After we have signed the contract, the commission process is collaborative (ie., we will have approx 2-3 meetings online to discuss your custom artwork project, we will use a shared document to track all related information, as well as the design concept ).Β However, I need the creative freedom to follow my intuition to produce a well-composed mixed-media artwork for you or your client.
- A commissioned/personalized artwork can take approximately 1 week to 6 months to complete -- depending on our schedules,Β what you would like done, and if you have provided all of the original materials -- that you would like me to incorporateΒ (such as personal mementos). We will note in the contract the estimated (and mutually agreed upon) target date of completion We will revise the contract regarding any date extensions -- as needed. All revisions to the originalΒ contract must be signed by all parties.
- Fine Art Paper Prints, Canvas Prints, Stationery such as Greeting Cards, Invitation Cards, and Postcards, Notebooks, Apparel, Home Goods,Β and Accessories -- printed with your custom artwork will require additional fees. Please inquire for cost estimates and volume discounts.
- Projects that requires me to travel outside of the South Bay Area California will require an additional fee.
- Please note that unless I expressly sign over copyright to the buyer who's commissioned the painting or it was done as work for hire, copyright remains with the Artist (me/Jocelyn Cruz). Owning the actual original painting is not the same as owning copyright and reproduction rights in the painting.
- A "Licensing Commission" will require a different contract and policy on a case by case basis.

Details:Β The paintings tell the Monaghan's family's history from their Beijing and Missouri roots, precious moments from their wedding in San Francisco, trips across the U.S. and stories about their strong Love and bond for each other.
Materials:Β Acrylic paints and Mediums, personal photographs and original mementos from the Monaghan's family keepsake box such as their wedding invitation, letters from family, stamps, amusement park entrance tickets, etc.
Please Note:Β The image of the commissioned artwork shown for this item is to only provide you with a general idea of the look (composition and color palette) and feel (depth, layers and detail) for my painting style. It also serves as an illustration example as to how much detail I can fit in to the size of the canvas.Β
