Hidden Depths Collector Series: "San Francisco Golden Gate" - 12"x9" Original Encaustic Mixed Media

$6,750.00

There are so many words to be said about this painting. To date, it is considered by most of Jocelyn's patrons to be her most beautiful Encaustic masterpiece - an honor to the San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge! This beautiful artwork might be just the perfect focal point for your office space or favorite room in your home!

Immerse yourself in the depths and layers of color this artwork has to offer. Lose yourself in the encaustic wax, metal mesh, rusts, and vintage artifacts against the famous Golden Gate (see more details below).

You can almost smell the salty air of the Pacific coast...feel the sunset and fog sweeping over San Francisco Bay, and hear the sounds of the ocean waves.

What is Encaustic painting? It is an ancient media using natural and pigmented beeswax. Dammar resin is used to help stabilize it. The process involves using both clear and pigmented hot wax to paint, and then heat to fuse each layer.

Encaustic was the perfect medium for the original painting as it so beautifully echoes the magnificence of the Golden Gate Bridge. The many layers gives the encaustic painting a translucent, romantic, ethereal and intriguing quality.

At sunset on February 7, 2015, Jocelyn's stood silently on her 47th birthday praying in front of the Golden Gate bridge. She felt an undeniable desire to pursue creating art professionally. This moment sparked her groundbreaking work on healing her inner artist child and beginning her artists' journey by following her heart's dream. She made a critical decision in taking her rightful identity as a Creative Being. Jocelyn decided to put her faith in God and not allow fear to get in the way of her personal calling.

Just a few hours after that pivotal moment, Jocelyn found an immense creative energy that expressed itself through the creation of this artwork. She felt the Soul and hand of the Great Creator work through her own. There was a vitality, unexplainable life force, powerful nudge and energy, and a feeling of being alive when she painted this piece with encaustic wax.

"Artists throughout the centuries have spoken of 'inspiration' -- confiding that God spoke to them or angels did. In our age, such notions of art as a spiritual experience of creativity is mystical. Opening our souls to what must be made, we meet our Maker."

"As artists, we experience the fact that 'God is in the details.' Making our art, we make artful lives. Making our art, we meet firsthand the hand of our Creator."

"The heart of creativity is an experience of the mystical union; the heart of the mystical union is an experience of creativity. Those who speak in spiritual terms routinely refer to God as the creator but seldom see creator as the literal term for artist. I am suggesting you take the term creator quite literally. You are seeking to forge a creative alliance, artist-to-artist with the Great Creator. Accepting this concept can greatly expand your creative possibilities."

About the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge:

The Golden Gate Bridge is an iconic structure connecting the city of San Francisco to Marin County, California. It spans almost two miles across the Golden Gate, the narrow strait where San Francisco Bay opens to meet the Pacific Ocean. The dream of connecting San Francisco to its northern neighbors became a reality when construction commenced in 1933. Given the chance for steady employment amid the Great Depression, construction crews braved treacherous conditions as the roadway and towers took shape over open water. The Golden Gate Bridge, opened to the public in 1937, has endured as a picture-perfect landmark and an engineering marvel.
